What topics are people most interested in when giving a reading?

Maybe I will have better luck this time of doing a 500 word article, which Matu has asked for our newly formatted e.newsletter.  Last time I tried it turned out to be 2,900 so wish me luck this time.  After Meditating and asking for God’s guidance for the day and seeing to Facebook here I am ready and willing.

I have decided to work with my Circle Topic  cards, and after shuffling many times the topic that turned up was actually the one we discussed in our Tuesday night Circle.  Funny that!

‘What topics are people most interested in when giving a reading?’

I turned this around for us to think about - what are we most interested in when we are receiving a Reading?

When I begin a Reading, I start with smudging, and a seated Reiki.  I start with this quite deliberately because, as we both go into the Reiki energy our minds can quieten and psychic awareness is enhanced. During this time, I can do a quick clearing so that I can see the state of the persons energy, then I am looking out for messages. Firstly, who is the loved one who is helping me with the Reading time? Is there a guide around?  What symbols of earth (a plant, tree and animal), air (birds), fire (usually an animal comes through that has a fiery nature), and water (animals from the water kingdom) are around.  Minerals (crystals), colours and observing if extra energy is going into different parts of the body.  Then I take them to where they will sit for the Reading and invite them to put on their recording device.  

I open with the messages received during the Reiki and then go on to ask Spirit what the most helpful thing will be that we can discuss today.  All of us want to know about health, wealth, happiness, and receiving messages about home, work, relationships are important to everyone.  Hearing from a departed loved one whether that be human, or animal is also important, and a few impressions of future possibilities come through as well.

I encourage people to come with questions so, at one point during the Reading, I ask if they have any further questions, explaining they can take this part in any direction they wish, drawing a loved one in spirit close, getting more information about a relationship or any other part of the Reading, insights into past lives for them.  The final part of our time together is left to the crystals where we have a final look at New Beginnings, Passions and conflict, emotions, wisdoms and endings, the future, the contract we have made with Mother Earth and in the Centre, our connection to everything.

The best Readings are those where the person is open, and the energy freely flows between our highest selves and lots of good information can come through.  I don’t limit the time we spend together as I am not interested in churning people through.  At the end of the Reading, I look at the form they filled in at the beginning to see if there is any other way the different groups and courses we run can be of help to them.
